Family, Friends, Food & Fun
When you picture a traditional Cornish Country House, images of families and friends enjoying fresh air and the countryside, accompanied by delicious home-made meals around a large table, spring to mind. There is always a spirit of enjoyment and contentment running through, often helped on its way with a glass or two of local beer or a bottle of wine.
Boscastle is one of the most beautiful locations in the UK, a world away from today’s global complexities. When you combine this with our love of good company, fresh local food and the occasional drink, The Wellington is the ideal place to be. It is a “Country House By The Sea” and this concept underpins our philosophy as our time as owners. The Wellington is not a “boutique hotel” and you can rest assured that your muddy boots, wet dog and sand-covered children will always be welcome.
Food is at the heart of the hotel and we aim to cater for everyone. Our produce is fresh and local. Our chefs are professionally trained and passionate about their food. You can choose whether you want to eat a relaxed pub meal in The Long Bar or enjoy a more refined dinner in The Waterloo Restaurant. Whichever you choose, the quality and enjoyment will be the same.
No meal is complete without a drink, whether it be a local beer or cider, a glass of wine, Cornish water or a coffee. Whatever takes your fancy, we want you to enjoy it. You can have a beer with your dinner in the Restaurant, choose our best bottle of wine with your pub meal or even have both.
Our rooms are traditional yet with a modern feel. The majority have been re-furbished by local tradesmen, tasked with retaining the original features. Although the rooms retain an air of history and tradition, you will find modern facilities such as wi-fi, flat screen TV’s and a choice of toiletries available.
Our goal is ease the Wellington slowly into the 21st century whilst retaining the sense of history, love of people and enjoyment of life. One day, when we pass the hotel on to its next owners, it will hopefully still be as fantastic place to visit as it is today.
