The hotel is set in 10 acres of woodland that extend up the valley to the village at the top of the hill. At the front of the hotel, there is a small terrace that captures the evening sun and is a lovely place to enjoy an early evening drink. Behind the hotel is the beer garden that can be accessed through the Long Bar. This is a beautiful and undiscovered spot, ideal for a late morning coffee, lunchtime drink or afternoon tea.
For those prepared to venture into the wooded valley beyond the beer garden, you will be rewarded by one of the best views in Boscastle. A short walk up the hill will take you to a spot known as The Artist’s Chair from where there is a panoramic view down the harbour, over the cliffs and out to sea.
